The Chula Vista Rangers are accepting registration for their LA84 “E” bilingual coaching workshop, which will be held at Southwest HS from 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13. The cost for the two-day workshop is $25.
Rangers coach Victor Melendez, who is also a Cal South instructor, will teach the course. The course allows coaches to obtain their soccer-coaching license and covers topics such as methods of coaching; team administration and risk management; prevention and care of injuries; coaching techniques and tactics; laws of the game; principles of attack and defense; and small-sided games.
The 18-hour course includes five hours in a classroom and 13 hours on the field. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to participate and will become a member of Cal South when registering.
