The Rangers GU9 Red team is a brand new team for the 2009/10 season. The roster is made up of players from Chula Vista and the surrounding areas of the South Bay. The GU9 players’ experience comes from either AYSO or the Rangers Youth Academy.
The Rangers GU9 Red team got off to a good start. After playing up an age group in the CVU Rangers Memorial Day tournament, the team has rebounded by winning the Championship of the 1st annual Kick for Hope tournament and went undefeated in the process. Some of the teams other accomplishments this summer were, Finalists in the 3rd annual San Diego Open tournament, Finalist in the Elite Cup and Champions of the Dave Shelton tournament.
The team had a great season this year with a record of 9 wins, 2 loses and 3 ties, with that record the team finished in 2nd place in the GU9 Green South Bracket. The highlight of the season was a 2-2 tie to the first place team. The girls had a great post season, winning the Presidio Cup final in penalty kicks on Dec. 12 and then one week later they were champions of the Reindeer Invitational tournament Dec. 19-20 in the GU10 silver bracket.

The players, parents and coach look forward to the upcoming 2010/11Presidio League season and will find it an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
