The Girls Under 9 Red team, coached by Robert and Art Martinez, had an amazing weekend at the San Diego Open Soccer Tournament on August 16^th and 17^th!  After a disappointing first loss to Coronado , the girls came back to defeat the Pumas soccer club 4-1 and the Quest soccer club 2-1, facing Coronado again in the finals!  After a scoreless game, the champion was decided by penalty kicks, for which the Ranger Girls shut out Coronado !  Congratulations Team!

We are proud to report our Girls U14 team won 1st place in the Elite Cup....

The GU9 team, coached by Robert and Art Martinez, reigned victorious at the 2008 Nike Crusaders Cup! The girls went 3-0 through the semi-finals, qualifying for the championship game on Monday June 21, 2008, where they pulled off a nail-biting 1-0 win against Coronado. Between an outstanding goal keeper and an incredible defense, the girls only allowed one goal the entire tournament – and the talent of the team’s unstoppable offense racked up a total of 11 goals!

Chula Vista Ranger player Paul Arriola has been selected to the National Pool for the U15 team.  After making the regional team last week, Paul was chosen from a pool of 270 players that included 11 states. Paul Arriola was also the only player chosen from San Diego. The pool is down to 60 players that will be in Boston the first week of August to take part of the selection process for the National U15 team. Paul has become the first Ranger Player to be included in the National pool and is a great accomplishment.
